I am not a fan of oatmeal, but my son is. He is on a low sugar-based diet and oatmeal is a go-to for breakfast during the winter months before school. There are allot of premade oatmeal packs in the grocery stores that have entirely too much sugar in them. I had to come up with something that will make his oatmeal enjoyable but not boring.
Overnight Oats are a popular method at making oatmeal on the go. The oats can last 2 days in the fridge. It can be eaten hot or cold and customized to any individuals liking. Raspberry Cream Overnight Oats is one way you can have oats in the morning without all the sugar.
In a mason jar combine all the ingredients, fruit of choice, oats, milk, water, cinnamon, & salt. The “seed mixture” is optional but can be added as well. Other options include peanut butter and nuts, just to name a few. Stir the mixture, close the lid and let sit in the refrigerator until the next day. You can either eat the oats from the jar or heat in a microwave safe dish for 1 minute or until hot. Here you can add additional toppings or add honey to taste. A warm, cozy breakfast for your little ones before school or at any time. Naturally sweet, vegan, low sugar and Tony gives it a thumbs up!
I hope you give this recipe a try and come to enjoy it as he did. All the Best!
