Apple French Toast bake

I was reorganizing my pantry and came across an opened loaf of Simply Nature’s “Knock Your Sprouts Off” from my neighborhood Aldi Food Market. It was just starting to turn stale. I didn’t need croutons or breadcrumbs. How about something sweet?

I had apples, strawberries, blueberries, plums; all these sounded delicious but I played it safe and went with an “Apple French Toast Bake.” This recipe was easy to assemble.

The directions may have certain times to add ingredients but that was just my preference. All you really need to do is mix all the ingredients except for the apples and bread. Place the apples and bread in the baking dish of your choice and then pour the liquid over it. I would let it sit for an hour or overnight covered for maximum absorption. Once you are finish with soaking all that flavor into the bread Bake at 350* for about 35-40 min and the top is a golden brown.

I paired this with my “Homemade Whip (Ice) Cream.” It was a delicious! But if you want to keep it low-fat/low cholesterol skip the topping or add more fruit.
