I like the texture and taste of seared chicken, so I decided to season the chicken and sear in a cast iron skillet. Now in the skillet there is the flavor left from the chicken, this is where the onions, bell peppers, mushrooms and butter will enter your life and transform this dish into one of your favorites to make. The soup, almond milk and water is added and stir this until well combined and bring to a simmer. I added the chicken here, dredged it in the sauce and finished cooking it in the oven.
This meal is one of my favorites; high in potassium, low in carbohydrates with adequate protein. I hope you give this a try with our easy to make “Cream of Mushroom Barley” that we paired with this recipe.
